Conference announcement
The 21st British Philosophy of Sports Association Conference will be hosted by Robert Gordon University (RGU) in Aberdeen, Scotland, 21-23rd March, 2024.
One of the world’s leading conferences on the philosophy of sport, the 2024 event will bring together researchers from across the globe to the North-East of Scotland for a vibrant forum to network, exchange ideas and discuss the importance of games, play, and sport. The conference will feature keynote speakers from academia as well as the sporting professions, providing delegates with a unique opportunity to hear different perspectives on the nature and value of human movement.

Call for Abstracts
Guidelines for Abstract Submission:
- Send abstract (300 words) by: Wednesday November 15, 2023 at midnight.
- Accepted abstracts will receive notification by Friday December 15th, 2023.
- Include: name, institution, abstract, indicative bibliography; all to fit on one side of A4. Required format is MS Word Times New Roman 12pt, single spacing.
- Abstracts should be in English and must involve philosophical treatment of a topic related to sport.
- Abstracts to be submitted to s.j.parry@leeds.ac.uk with filename <ABSTRACT – last name – title> e.g. <ABSTRACT – Parry – Is ‘Robot Wars’ a sport?>

Presentations will be twenty minutes with ten minutes for questions and discussion.
Guidelines for Abstract Submission
• Send abstract (200-300 words) as soon as possible – final submission date: 15th Jan 2023 (Sunday)
• Decisions communicated by 1st February 2023
• Required format is MS Word Times New Roman 12pt, single spacing, no auto-formatting, ‘normal’ margins – as per attached example – with name, institution, abstract, max 5 keywords. 3-5 items of indicative bibliography; brief personal details – all to fit on one side of A4.
• Abstracts to be submitted to s.j.parry@leeds.ac.uk with the formulaic filename as follows: <ABSTRACT – surname – title>

Guidelines for Abstract Submission
- Abstracts are invited in any area of the Philosophy of Sport and from any philosophical perspective.
- Abstract final submission date – Friday, 25 Feb 2022.
- Accepted abstracts will receive notification by Friday, 4 March 2022.
- Required submission format is 300-500 words, MS Word, 12pt, single spacing, with indicative bibliography.
- Submissions must be prepared in English.
- Abstracts should be submitted as an MS Word file with <your name – ABSTRACT – title> as the filename (e.g. Devine – ABSTRACT – On Winning).
